All collections include my time and experience. Most also include a fine art leather album and digital files. Because each wedding is unique, we can customize a collection to reflect your exact needs.

Travel outside the Richmond area is available and warmly welcomed for an additional fee.

In addition she was non-intrusive during the ceremony and reception. My bride had broken her leg a few weeks before the wedding and Susanna was very conscious of when she got tired of standing during the photos. She was also great about working around when the bride needed to sit and taking some great photos in a variety of different poses. We opted for just the hi res digital package as we are very digitally oriented people and we are very happy to have the full range of photos accessible in that format.”

Frequently Asked Questions

  • My personal turnaround time is 3 weeks, depending on the season. My goal is to deliver your high quality images in a timely fashion so you can enjoy your photos while the memories are fresh.

  • My editing technique is minimal, because my goal is always to capture natural beauty in the best light- in camera. I do consider it part of my workflow to color-correct each image and make sure it reflects the mood and style of your wedding. I also take the time to remove blemishes and bags under the eyes if necessarily. 

  • I love to travel. Contact me with the details of your wedding for a custom quote.

    Travel 25 miles outside the Richmond area is $75.00 per trip on average. More may be applicable depending on the distance. If overnight accommodations are needed, a custom quote will be provided.

  • The first look allows you to relax and spend more time with your fiance by taking as many images as possible BEFORE the wedding. You’ll be able to attend your own cocktail party, mingle with guests, and relax. 

    The first look is also a time for you to see each other privately without the pressures of a crowd, Don’t worry, we’ll make it a special occasion all of it’s own. 

    I highly recommend it, but never push it if that’s not part of your vision.

  • Most couples contact me 6-12 months before their wedding date to assure availability. This usually happens after the venue has been booked. Once we’ve had a chance to meet and talk over details, you can book me by filling out a contract and paying a retainer fee of 30% of your collection total. 

    The remainder of the balance is due one week prior to the wedding date. Retainers and remainders can be paid by cash, credit, or check made out to Susanna Tanner Photography.

  • Whoa, stop right there beauty! I simply don't believe in "photogenic." It's my job as the photographer to make you look and feel amazing! And lucky for you I am a trained master at making people of all ages, shapes and sizes look amazing in photographs.

  • You have unlimited usage when you receive the digital files. I retain all copyright. 

  • I certainly do. I consider your wedding photography an investment and will try to work with you on the best payment options. 

  • Yes and yes 😃

  • I do. In fact, I think it’s a great way for us to practice before the wedding day. You see my shooting style and I can learn more about how you interact in front of a camera. All of this at our own pace.

    Engagement photos can be part of a collection, or a la carte.

  • I especially like the getting ready time before the ceremony takes place. There is so much anticipation and energy in the air! A lot of time and effort go into planning for your dress, hair, make up, jewelry, and all the little details that feel so important to capture.

    I also love first looks and private vow readings. It’s always an honor to witness these moments.
