I’m sitting at my computer on a day that feels minus 6 outside due to Winter Storm Harper, relishing in reliving not only a beautiful Indianapolis Outdoor Wedding, but also a hot fall day. While the general framework of most wedding days is fairly similar, I’m reminded time and time again how no two weddings are the same. I love how each couples’ energy, tastes and preferences make every wedding so different. Amy and Adam’s rings were both ordered through online shops, Amy’s engagement ring was ordered through a smaller New York boutique. They are planning to get tattoos done of their wedding bands as well.

How it all began

They met through Amy’s brother and mutual friends in the Fountain Square neighborhood. Adam was a bartender at the time. The two immediately began spending time alone together and quickly became best friends. They both claim best thing about their relationship is that they never have to force the love or the connection, and that they just enjoy experiencing life together; even the boring parts.

Love of the outdoors

The choice to have an outdoor wedding reflects their love of the outdoors, camping, and exploring new places. For their honeymoon, they escaped to Lake Tahoe to indulge in the outdoors. And they’ve had some of their best experiences together while at a close friend’s farm in southern Indiana. Seeing chickens at their wedding should really be no surprise to those that know them well.

In their own words

We will never forget how lucky and appreciative we felt having all of our friends and loved ones with us to celebrate our marriage.
Everyone says this but its true – as many times as you can, stop and take in what is happening around you. The day goes by so fast. (THIS IS TRUE!!) You may not get to spend time with everyone there, but remember that it is YOUR day.
We opened so many bottles of champagne on the dance floor that a handful of people ended up falling, but hopped right back up and kept on grooving.
We danced our first dance to ‘At Last’ by Etta James.
There’s a lot of ways to host an event. None of those ways are going to be easy for everyone.
It was a perfect day.
