While Tess and David declared their love before family, friends and God at St. Mary’s Catholic church, they decided to celebrate their commitment at a Richmond, Indiana outdoor wedding venue. It was the best day for an October wedding! The weather was perfect. The sun was shining brightly. Summer was holding on for one last weekend. Their wedding mass was especially memorable, and Quaker Hill Conference Center was a great Richmond location for an outdoor wedding reception.
Q & A
How did the two of you meet?
Tess: I was at home on a Saturday night about to go to bed, when Joe, my father figure and his friend, Ann, invited me out to New Boswell to meet a friend of theirs. This was right before COVID happened in January 2020 (perfect timing!) There were a lot of people when I arrived and I was thinking who is this person… expecting honestly the worst and was very tempted to stay at home. What little did I know, I met the love of my life that night!
2) Funniest memory from your wedding day?
We laughed so hard during the shoe game. It had been such a busy few days, and we were ready fall asleep at 8:30 that night!
3) What do each of you do for a living/career?
David works in telecommunications at Frontier. Tess is a high school Spanish teacher at Richmond High School and teaches online for Indiana University East. We are parents to Bess, and our dog children, Zoe and Maggie. And now…we are expecting baby Newton in July 2022!
Q & A Continues…
4) Three things you find endearing about the other person.
We are very similar people. We have very similar tastes and personalities. David loves that I am totally fine with getting comfy and hanging out on the sofa on Friday nights, and I especially love that David can handle any home improvement project that I throw his way.
5) What advice would you give to engaged couples planning their wedding?
Getting ideas from Pinterest is a good start. But, make your wedding your own. Put your unique touch on the day and create your own vision for the day.
6) If you could do it all over again, would you change anything about your wedding day?
We would have invited more people to our outdoor wedding venue.
